Bevel gears are used to transmit the movement and power between two intersecting shafts. In general machinery, the angle of intersection between the two shafts of bevel gears is equal to 90° (but not equal to 90°). Similar to cylindrical gears, bevel gears have indexing cones, addendum cones, tooth root cones and base cones. A cone has a big end and a small end, and the circle corresponding to the big end is called the index circle (its radius is r), the addendum circle, the root circle and the base circle. The movement of a pair of bevel gears is equivalent to a pair of pitch cones for pure rolling.
Ⅰ. Different in nature
1. Bevel gear: a gear used to transmit the movement and power between two intersecting shafts.
2. Helical gear: reduction transmission device.
Ⅱ. Characteristics are different
1. Features of bevel gears: the angle of intersection between the two shafts of the bevel gear is equal to 90° (but not equal to 90°).
2. Features of helical gears: small size, light weight, large transmission torque, stable starting, fine transmission ratio grading, and can be connected at will and a variety of installation positions can be selected according to user requirements.
Expansion
Helical gears are not complete helical gears. It should be said that the helical gear is the meshing method of two helical gears, and they can be distinguished in different directions of force transmission in space. Ordinary spur gears mesh along the tooth width at the same time, causing shock vibration noise and unstable transmission. Helical cylindrical gear transmission is better than straight-tooth cylindrical gear transmission, and uses a compact center distance when high-speed and heavy-duty.
